The greatest asceticism for an artist is observation. This means that that an artist has to conceive an idea and transform it into his inner vision and intuition to create something. While studying whirling dervishes from close quarters for some time it evolves that there comes a stage when one feels they are moving towards the Almighty while dancing. In order to portray this concept in the paintings the figures are elevated from the ground. personal experiences and knowledge of Sufism are essential to achieve the above goals.
